ASAblocker — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-20
ASAblocker is a privacy-focused web browser by ASSMdev that blocks ads and trackers on the sites you visit. Your browsing runs entirely on your device: no accounts, no sign-in, and no ASSMdev server ever receives your history. The app is free and shows non-personalized ads through Google AdMob — the one third party that may process data, described below. It never asks permission to track you. Policy updated September 6, 2026.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect names, emails, locations, contacts, identifiers, or usage data, and we operate no servers that receive your information.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep ASAblocker free it shows ads served by Google AdMob. The ads are non-personalized: the app never requests permission to track you, never uses the advertising identifier for profiling, and every ad request instructs Google to disable personalization. To serve, count and secure those ads, Google's SDK may still process a device identifier (frequency capping and fraud prevention), approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interaction data (impressions and taps), and app performance and crash diagnostics.
How Google handles this is described in Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services" (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland a consent form is shown before ads are requested, and your choice can be changed at any time from that form.
Your browsing data
Your history, cookies, and site data stay on your device, managed by the system web engine (WebKit) — the same technology Safari uses.
You can erase all of it at any time from Settings → Clear browsing data.
When you visit a website your connection goes directly to that site over its own HTTPS encryption. ASAblocker sits between you and ad/tracker servers only to block them — it does not log or transmit what you browse.
Ad & tracker blocking
Blocking happens locally: a content-blocking rule list stops requests to known ad and tracker hosts, and an on-device script hides first-party ads on pages you open. No browsing information leaves your device to make this work.
Music you download or import
Songs you download from a direct link or import from the Files app are stored only on your device, in the app's Music folder (visible in Files → On My iPhone → ASAblocker). They are never uploaded anywhere. Downloading is limited to direct audio files; content from streaming services cannot be saved.
Third-party websites
ASAblocker lets you open third-party sites, which have their own privacy policies and data practices that we do not control. This policy covers only the ASAblocker app itself.
Children
ASAblocker is a general-audience app that is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears here and inside the app.
